Georgia and Dimosthenis’s rustic chic destination wedding in Greece did not shrug away any traditional elements. Held in Arachova a small picturesque village in central Greece, their special day was gorgeously decorated with whimsy and classic flair. The relaxed theme featured hues of crisp ivory, soft pinks, cool lilac, forest greens, and dusky blue with hints of gold; perfect for spring. Held in their home country, the couple’s wedding featured copious amounts of natural countryside light and mountainous greenery. The floral aspects of the decor were also quite relaxed, yet elegant featuring baskets full of blooms and crisp white lanterns. The main entrance of the Orthodox Church where the ceremony was held, was decorated with garlands, and was both a feast for the eyes and the senses. The garlands were each a beautiful array of hydrangeas, lisianthus, freesias, eucalyptus, ivies and ruscus. Candlesticks decorated with ivies stood at the bottom of each garland. Married just before the dawn of the sun, the bride’s bouquet was full of white peonies and a variety of David Austin roses. Rice with lavender was arranged on the tables to throw at the end of the ceremony as part of a time-honored tradition. The elegant and dance-filled reception was held at a beautiful restaurant with a gorgeous view across the valley of the mountain Parnassus. A refreshment bar station which espoused the lilac theme of course offered fruit infused water and fresh fruits. The vintage and retro elements of the wedding came full circle in the gifting of an iconic 1969 red fiat 500 to the couple from a close friend.
