It's always inspiring to see the ways couples incorporate the things that they love and the things that define their life as a couple into their wedding day. For Shelley and John's beautiful island wedding, held on the shores of the Big Island's Kohala Coast, it was their mutual love for Hawaiiana, the groom's love for surfing, and the bride's love for horses and polo, among other things, that captured their hearts and sparked ideas that set wedding plans in motion. To kick off plans, the couple enlisted stationery designer Stacey Nomura of Bradley and Lily Fine Stationery to create custom wedding stationery pieces that were beautifully designed to incorporate the many elements of the couple's island life. From there, wedding planner Nichole Shin of Nichole Weddings and Events and event designer Avery Solmssen of Green Honolulu took these beautiful stationery designs and brought them to life, weaving the couple's many loves and many ideas into a truly unique celebration of love and life in the islands. From the wooden surfboard guest book to the simple island style beach ceremony to the hand sewn Hawaiian quilt that replicated the couple's stationery design, each and every well planned detail was a perfect reflection of the couple and their island lifestyle.
