Shanika and Steven escaped their busy city lives in Los Angeles for their classic, yet modern and diverse wedding in Haleiwa, Hawaii. The couple put their trust in Diana Caro-Salvador of Oahu Wedding to pull together perfect details for their wedding at the exclusive Loulu Palm Estate. They chose a palette of purple, fuchsia and ivory, and incorporated lush tropical flowers and beautiful mood lighting to create a classy affair by the sea. With a 99% chance of rain forecasted for their Big Day, back up plans kicked in and clear top tents with side walls were installed and the layout was rearranged, but that didn't take away one bit of glamour. A breath-taking ceremony arch was covered with sheer drapes and lush flowers, including hydrangeas, roses and orchids, and alluring lounge areas set among cocktail tables were intimately lit. Shanika honored her Sri Lankan heritage by wearing a stunning champagne saree, choosing light fuschia sarees for her bridesmaids while groomsmen wore Hawaiian Maile leis. A mix of round and rectangle tables made up the reception area, adorned with breathtaking floral arrangements from Yvonne Design. Shanika and Steven are "foodies" at heart, and great food and wine was a priority. Guests were treated to signature cocktails and a four course meal that included assorted petite desserts. Traditional Sri Lankan wedding cakes, handmade by the bride's aunt, served as favors.
