Traditional South Asian Wedding with Modern Twists
Mahesh and Barathi met when they were 15 years old while speaking the language of love—French. They sat next to each other in French class and became fast friends, shared sweet locker notes, and kept in touch when they went to college in separate states. Fate brought them back together, right to the Fort McHenry National Monument where the big proposal happened. They said “I do” at the Hilton Hotel in Baltimore Maryland. The couple loved the venue’s floor-to-ceiling windows that overlooked the iconic Baltimore Camden Yards baseball stadium. Mahesh and Barathi were both born in the United States and their parents are from India so they wanted to truly fuse their Indian heritage while also adding Western touches. CG & Co Events helped them marry the traditional Hindi elements with modern twists—from delicious Indian cuisine, Tamil wedding live music, to a secret garden feel with draping greenery and romantic pillar candles. The color palette was a bold burgundy with elegant gold, finished with classic hints of white and blush. Mahesh wore a gold Sherwani and Barathi wore a red silk saree with gold jewelry. The whole affair was highly personalized as the couple wrote their own vows, painted their own escort cards, and choreographed their own dances! The sweet couple showcased their identities as first-generation Indian-Americans and celebrated their vibrant love in style!
