ABOUT Charter Hall

Charter Hall, Downtown Roanoke's premier event space atop the City Market Building offers history, flexibility, and state of the art technology, accommodating up to 240 for wedding receptions, or 150 for both ceremony and receptions.

Historically, the top of the 1885 market building served as the Roanoke Opera House. The 1922 structure’s Assembly Hall was used for public gatherings and events, however, with the lack of complete public accessibility, the hall had gone dormant. With the 2011 top-to-bottom rehabilitation, Charter Hall is now available for leased use for weddings and special events!
