For the Adventurer

Chile – Atacama Desert

Set the Scene: Spend your days hiking in the highest and driest desert in the world and climb to the top of an 18,000-foot volcano, higher than skydiving, for an aerial view unlike any other. Enjoy cocktails with flamingos at the Salt Plains as the sky reflects pink and purple. Return to the lodge for a Michelin-worthy meal—Alpaca Carpaccio, anyone?—and plenty of libations to refuel for the next day’s adventures. Try not to overindulge—you’re at altitude! Finish your evening by meeting your guide for an exclusive stargazing adventure or hitting the hot tub to soak those weary bones. Ready for your next adventure? Fly south to hike in Torres del Paine National Park in the Chilean Patagonia and cannonball into a glacier-fed lake.

Where to Stay: Awasi Atacama (Atacama Desert)
Optional Add-On: Patagonia
When to Go: Year-Round
What to Know: The Atacama Desert is at almost 8,000 feet in altitude. We don’t recommend this to clients who struggle with altitude sickness.

For the Wildlife Enthusiast

Africa – Botswana (Kalahari Desert - Makadikadi Basin)

Set the Scene: Wake to freshly brewed coffee delivered to your tent before enjoying a made-to-order breakfast with all the fixings. Hop aboard your open-air safari vehicle to search for the elusive brown hyena or interact with habituated meerkats as they dig for scorpions for lunch. Finish your evening drive with a gin and tonic and homemade jerky, and keep an eye out for aardvark, porcupine, honey badger, and bat-eared foxes. Join your other lodge guests for a three-course dinner to regale in the day’s adventures before retiring to your tent’s platform to admire the stars! Time for a scenery change? Fly northwest for a mokoro ride through the shallow waters of the Okavango Delta and see more elephants than you could imagine in your wildest dreams.

Where to Stay: Jack’s Camp or San Camp
Optional Add-On: Okavango Delta
When to Go: April – October
What to Know: A small plane is required to access the camp. We don’t recommend this to clients who are afraid of flying.

For a Lively Beach Scene

Greece – Mykonos

Set the Scene: Mykonos knows how to party and has a lively beach club scene for those looking to dance in the sand with a glass of champagne in their hand. Spend your days (and nights) enjoying live DJs and local seafood before returning to the hotel spa for a detoxifying treatment. Tired of the party? Options abound! Head into Mykonos Town for some local goods, rent ATVs to explore the island, book a local wine tour, or enjoy a sunset catamaran cruise. Need a change of scenery? Take the ferry to nearby Paros or Antiparos for a few days of rest and relaxation.

Where to Stay: Kensho Psarou
Optional Add-On: Paros or Antiparos
When to Go: May – September
What to Know: An international driver’s license is required in Greece. If you want to rent a car or ATV, stop by your local AAA before departing. Be sure to check the requirements for a license on their website.
