While we love an extravagant venue as much as the next event-guru, there’s just something so perfectly understated about an at-home, outdoor wedding. We love, then, that when Katherine Oyer of Lucky and In Lovecalled in a favor from a friend of a friend to use their backyard for this styled shoot, it was none other than Jen, the Founder of Destination I Do. Inspired by her mother’s favorite mineral, malachite, Katherine used an unmistakable saturated green as the foundation for shoot, dressing up the palette a bit with white, black and — our personal favorite — touches of copper to bring out the rich, natural reds in the home and surrounding landscape. Romantic touches, like homemade marshmallows dipped in dark chocolate with edible copper flakes and malachite macarons, played perfectly next to more sharp details, like an unbelievable marbled cake and (über-rockstar) stark black linens. Carte Blanche Floral used white anemones and silver-dollar eucalyptus to create arrangements that were as soft and romantic as they were sharp and timeless, and Melissa Jill Photography captured it all for us to devour (and devour again…and devour again). We’re so excited to share this one with you today and hope you’ll appreciate every perfectly-executed detail (zoom in on that cake!) as much as we did. We’d say we’re green with envy, but that feels too obvious.
